At Your Own Pace

A lot of times people feel compelled to “keep up with the Jones’s” or to “keep up appearances” instead of living in their truth. I’m here to tell you, that dream house, car, job and relationship will all be there when you are ready and when it is your time.

Don’t create unnecessary stress in your life by trying to keep up with others. Most of the time, those same people who appear to have it all together are not living in their truth and struggling in the shadows.

Nowadays people’s perception of life and living comes solely from what they see on social media. But always remember that all that glitters ain’t gold.

Do you and do it at your own pace. Don’t worry about what others may think because what you eat, doesn’t make anyone else shit! Create your own happiness however you see fit. And leave all the other bullshit behind.

I’m human just like everyone else. I’ve had people that I thought were true friends shit on me because of a competition that they created in their mind. I’ve tried to build with people I thought were true only to be stabbed in the back and to have the rug pulled from under me. I’ve had so called friends sit and talk about me and what I have or the lack thereof. Sometimes those same people would turn around and mimic those very situations they felt the urge to speak on or attempt to purchase or do those very same things that I had that was “dumb, unnecessary or a waste of money” followed by an unrequested excuse as to why it’s a good idea now that they have it or did it.

I got married early. I had kids late. I didn’t take the traditional route of college. I had good credit, I’ve had bad credit. I’ve had a lot and I’ve lost a lot. I bought my own home in my 30s without the help of anyone. I found myself and loved me and my children enough to divorce in my 30s. I buried both my parents and I disowned family and friends due to mistreatment, deception, and disloyalty. I’m not perfect by any means but I’d say I’m a pretty solid chick and I will continue to be such by living life and doing things when and how I want. Not worrying about who else is doing it, who is watching and the thoughts of others.

We are all here on borrowed time. The worse thing anyone can do is to get in a rat race with anyone who isn’t destined to even meet you or beat you to the finish line. Chart your own path and be happy with the outcome.

Elfzilla in Paris

You may of heard of Godzilla but have you ever heard of Elfzilla?

Well my kids are Godzilla fanatics! One day while out shopping my daughter found this old Eiffel Tower clock in a thrift shop. She knows how much I love Paris and cannot wait to visit with them in tow.

It needed quite a bit of TLC and to set it off, I spray painted it gold to match the decor in my bedroom. I still haven’t been able to find the battery but I love it all the same. I always love the gifts I receive from my children because I know it is truly from the heart and with much thought.

This elf staging wasn’t originally part of my chain of events for Jaxon but my son mentioned it a week ago. He said if he saw Jaxon on my Eiffel Tower he would jack him up lol.

It’s been a few hours since they woke up and neither one of the kids has found him yet. I wonder who will find him first today? My son is beating my daughter in the elf hunt by 2 days. They are so excited to see who gets the elf prize on Christmas Eve!

Jaxon hanging with the homie Who

This morning the kids found Jaxon up in the tree hanging with my favorite ornament Who the Owl. I thought it would take the kids a while to find him because he sort of blended in with the ornaments. But my son found him first and had to scream to alert the entire house…

19 days until Christmas right? Whew…this is definitely a struggle year.

Practice Gratitude Daily

Each morning before your feet hit the floor, before you grab your cell…give gratitude something(s) in your life that bring you joy. It doesn’t matter how big or small these things are.

Today I’m grateful for my children’s humble spirit, the ocean; as it calms me, and the invention of these devices that keeps us connected. All of these things get me through day to day.

I hope each and every person my post touches has an abundantly blessed day!

On Some Other 💩

We are only 3 days into this elf business this year and it seems kind of hard to keep up with Jaxon…either I fall asleep before I remember to put him out or I wake up and forget to situate him before I get the kids up. Either way I have to do better ASAP.

Seems like both Jaxon and I are on some other shit this year…now I just have to remember to take my good Ghirardelli chocolate morsels out of the bathroom and put them back in the kitchen after the kids finish eating breakfast. 🤦🏾‍♀️

And would you know…now I have to use the bathroom…to the other end of the house I go so I don’t disturb the scene before the kids discover him. Who will find Jaxon first today? 🤔

Jaxon Strikes Again…

I dog sat the cutest puppy aside from my very own yesterday. I think this slightly filled my void of wanting a baby and/or another dog 🤣

Meet Shortbread…her name suits her perfectly!

We have given her the nickname SB for short because my mouth just doesn’t work right all the time. She and my big 4 year old “baby” lab Simba have gotten along great. I think he’s just happy to have a canine companion. Getting another dog is now definitely on the list. The baby…let’s put a pin in that one. 😬

I forgot how often you’re up with puppies when they are this small. But being a chronic insomniac it didn’t really put a bend in my sleep or rest schedule at all. I did however fall asleep before putting out Jaxon for the kids…

I woke up scrambling trying to think of something to do. I couldn’t leave my room because the kids were up and they’d see me with him. Smh. This is why I have to stay on schedule in December.

I had to think fast so I grabbed one of the dry erase markers from the top of my closet. I picked up one of the kids pictures on the nightstand and I drew on their faces. They will be floored to see Jaxon has drawn mustaches, beards and elf hats on their picture. I sat him between the plant and picture frame with the marker.

Who will be the first to find him?

Jaxon up to no good
